Epidemiological study “SPECTRUM”
The prevalence and antimicrobial susceptibility of circulating S. pneumoniae serotypes in adult population in Russia

Study Objective
To estimate prevalence and antimicrobial susceptibility of circulated S. pneumoniae serotypes in adult population in different regions of the Russian Federation.
Dataset
- Bacterial isolates: 500
- S. pneumoniae: 500
- Time: June 01, 2019 - January 15, 2020
- Participating centers: 29 hospitals in 20 cities of Russian Federation
Inclusion Criteria
Isolates of S. pneumoniae obtained from patients with invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD), community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), sinusitis/acute otitis media (AOM) and healthy carriers.
Study Procedures
Re-identification, typing using real-time PCR with 27 primer pairs and antimicrobial susceptibility testing were performed in the central laboratory by standardized methods.
